2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Platform’s functionality and services.

• Facilitate rental transactions, bookings, payments, deposits, and related communications.

• Administer and manage the Basic and Enhanced Protection Plans.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your information may be shared under these circumstances:

• With Other Users: Necessary information shared between Owners and Renters to facilitate rental transactions and fulfill bookings.

• Payment Processor (Stripe): Payment information processed securely by Stripe to facilitate transactions and store payment details for authorized charges related to rentals, deposits, damages, deductibles, and outstanding fees.

• Third-party Service Providers: Providers of technical support, hosting, analytics, marketing services, customer support, and other necessary business functions, bound by strict confidentiality and data security agreements.

• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, government request, fraud prevention, or necessary to protect rights, safety, and property of StompGear, users, or the public.

• Business Transactions: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, or restructuring involving StompGear.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Payment Information Security (PCI-DSS Compliance)

All payments are securely processed through Stripe, our third-party PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. StompGear does not store or directly access complete credit card details. Stripe securely handles and encrypts all sensitive payment data according to industry-leading security standards.

5. Stored Payment Authorization

By booking rentals through our Platform, you explicitly consent to securely storing your payment method details via Stripe. You authorize StompGear to charge your stored payment method for:

• Unpaid rental charges, late fees, penalties, or other outstanding balances.

• Deductibles or damage charges exceeding your damage deposit.

• Additional financial obligations as outlined in our Terms of Service and Protection Plan Agreement.

• We promptly notify you if your stored payment method is charged, detailing the reason and amount.

6. Information Storage and Security

We maintain commercially reasonable security safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no online platform or method of electronic storage is entirely secure. Users explicitly acknowledge the inherent risks and limitations associated with online information transmission and storage.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as your account is active or necessary for business purposes, compliance with legal obligations, resolving disputes, or enforcing agreements. Users may request deletion of personal information, subject to legal and regulatory limitations.
