Our story

Adventure shouldn’t sit in a garage. That simple idea is where StompGear began. We’re based in the heart of the East Kootenays — surrounded by mountains, trails, and people who live for the outdoors. But we noticed something: incredible gear was collecting dust for most of the year, and getting into new adventures was more expensive than ever. So we built StompGear to solve both problems.

Road

What We Do

StompGear is a peer-to-peer adventure gear rental platform. Locals can rent out the gear they already own — and earn real income from it. Adventurers can book premium equipment for a fraction of the cost of buying.

No shipping boxes. No warehouse. No middleman buying gear and marking it up.

Just local gear, local people, and better access to the adventures we all love.

Why It Matters

Because the outdoors should feel open — not exclusive.

When people can access high-quality gear without the price tag, more families try new sports. More friends get outside. More kids learn to ride, ski, and explore.

And when gear owners earn from equipment they already have, they help fuel the next chapter of someone else’s adventure.

It’s a win for the community, the environment, and your wallet.

How It Works

List your gear in minutes — it’s free.

Rent from people in your area at fair, transparent prices.

Exchange gear locally for fast pickups and friendly meetups.

Stay protected with the StompGear Protection Plan.

No complicated steps. No surprises. Just easier access to adventure.

Our Mission

To make outdoor adventure more accessible, more affordable, and more sustainable — while supporting local people, local communities, and the incredible places we call home.

Our Vision

A world where gear is shared, stories are swapped, and everyone — from weekend warriors to total beginners — can try something new without breaking the bank.

Who We Are

Behind StompGear is our family — living, working, and adventuring right here in the East Kootenays. I’m Robin Brazenall, founder of StompGear, dad of two, skier, mountain biker, and someone who believes deeply in the power of community. My wife and I moved our family to the Kootenays for the same reason most people do — the mountains, the lifestyle, and the chance to raise our kids surrounded by nature. StompGear was built from that same love of the outdoors. We’ve spent years skiing local hills, exploring backroads, and collecting way too much adventure gear along the way — just like everyone else around here. We saw how much amazing equipment was sitting unused, and how hard (and expensive) it was for people to try new sports. So we created StompGear to change that. A platform built by a local family, for local families, helping more people get outside, try something new, and share the gear that brings us all together. When you use StompGear, you’re supporting a small, community-driven, Kootenay-based business — not a corporation. And you’re helping create more adventure for the people who live right here at home.
